Conspiracy Theories

I think that we know about all these things like Kony and 9/11 conspiracy theories but we dont know about the dolphin slaughter in Taiji because these things are close to home, and are broadcasted on tv, and they are on social media everywhere. The dolphin slaughter was kept very tight in Taiji and no one would let them see it or let it get out. But other theroies that we know about we are allowed to see, becasue thats how they back them up and thats how people make them so easy to believe. There were no pictures of the dolhin slaughter but there was foodage of the plane crashing into the tower and 'the bombs going off floors underneath where the plane hit'. If we dont see anything about it we dont believe it. But when we add a picture to our explaination it seems to make people believe and they tell other people about it and thats how it gets more popular than the other theories. Every conspiracy theory that I saw on those links had a picture right above it showing it. This is what makes them the biggest conspiracy theories.

Task #1

I think society is so obsessed with image and appearance because of all the media that shows us looking good is almost everything and how much we are exposed to this. Almost every celebrity cares about their appearance and image so much and many people look up to these celebrities as role models so they think they should try to look like them and try to care about their look as much as they do. Also celebrities use different things to enhance their looks that makes it impossible to look like they do. Things like a professional team of make-up artists and photoshop make them look flawless. It is impossible for normal people to look like them. I think there is a difference between females and males with this though. I find that females strive harder than males to look flawless but the males do not try as hard. Instead they have a sort of personality that they must mimic, the sort of tough guy thing. They need that and good looks to have the image that is portrayed everywhere of what they should look and be like. All the media that portrays that shows that men will not be able to get woman if they dont have these looks and this personalitiy. Females only have to worry on their looks, becasue in the media they never talk or never even have personalities. Peronsally I think that image and apperance is somewhat important, but not as important as the media portrays it. I think people should try to be good looking but not to the extent that people do now and they shouldnt care as much as they do now.
